Abstract: | Literature is the mirror of society, but the magazine is the mirror of literature. Literature is improved through magazines. More than 335 literary magazines are known in Santali language and literature. Among this, ‘Sili’ is one of the magazines. Sili is a monthly literary magazine. This magazine was first published in October 1981. The first editor of the magazine was Kalendranath Mandi. Now the chief editor of this magazine is Kalendrantah Mandi and the editor is Surendrantah Mandi. Sili magazine has been running for 44 years. Bengali characters are featured in this Santali magazine. Many articles on Santali literature have been published in this magazine. There are 87 Songs, 1407 Poetries, 135 Articles, 409 Short stories, 17 Novels, 35 Short drama, 20 Travel stories, 102 Biography, 33 Translated stories, 2 Detective stories, 167 Riddles, 320 Idioms, 67 Children’s rhyme, 18 Critiscism, 5 Books review. Also other writing were published in Sili magazine. Many writers have introduced through this magazine in Santali literature. Sili magazine has been included in Santali curriculum of various colleges and universities. Sili magazine has contributed a lot the development of Santali literature. |
