Abstract: Language gives the identity of a particular cast. Santali language gives the identity of Santal Tribe. We all knows that Santals are one of the primitive tribes of India and the language spoken by them “Santali language” is also a very ancient language. Santali language is belonging to Austric group. Santali language also has its own distinct characteristics with language qualities witch differentiates Santali language from other language. The linguistic terminology of the Indo Aryan group of languages is not quite suitable for the language of the Austro-Asiatic group. Because of their functional differences.
