    <title>Child Health and Educational Policy in Colonial Bengal (1910-1947)</title>
    <link>https://ir.vidyasagar.ac.in/jspui/handle/123456789/6848</link>
    <description>Title: Child Health and Educational Policy in Colonial Bengal (1910-1947)
Authors: Sarkar, Dr. Binata
Abstract: In the early decades of the 20th century the colonial government was&#xD;
concerned with the problem of infant mortality and child health&#xD;
particularly in Bengal. They began to reformulate educational policies&#xD;
keeping in mind the issues related to health and hygiene. Since 1910,&#xD;
initiatives were undertaken for medical inspection of school children&#xD;
in Bengal. This article attempts to focus mainly on two issues i.e.&#xD;
Why the question of child health became vital for the colonizers and&#xD;
how it chalked out the pattern of educational policy in Bengal since&#xD;
1910?

    <title>History of Village and Taluk division in Travancore as a model to other states in the formation of Kerala State</title>
    <link>https://ir.vidyasagar.ac.in/jspui/handle/123456789/6847</link>
    <description>Title: History of Village and Taluk division in Travancore as a model to other states in the formation of Kerala State
Authors: J, Dr. Suresh.
Abstract: Travancore lies between the parallel of 8’4’10° 22 north Latitude and&#xD;
between 76’ and 77’ 38’ east longitude and is situated at the south&#xD;
western extremity of the Indian peninsula. Travancore is triangular in&#xD;
shape with the apex towards the south at cape Camorin but the&#xD;
contiguity and compactness of the figure is marred by a deep&#xD;
indentation which a narrow strip of Cochin territory makes on the&#xD;
North West angle. The western side is longer than the eastern and runs&#xD;
in a north westerly direction. For purposes of land revenue&#xD;
administration, the State is divided into five Divisions of which the&#xD;
smallest Padmanabhapuram covers 62797 square miles and the largest&#xD;
Quilon 256431 square miles. The Devikulam Division was constituted&#xD;
only in 1910 and formed part of the Kottayam Division during the time&#xD;
for settlement. The formation of Village and Taluk is a difficult&#xD;
problem at the time of Kerala formation in 1956 but settled as a model&#xD;
to other states. The primary sources were used for the swot up. The&#xD;
analytical and descriptive method used for the description of study.

    <title>Gandhian Approach to Peace and Prosperity: A Philosophical Exposition</title>
    <link>https://ir.vidyasagar.ac.in/jspui/handle/123456789/6846</link>
    <description>Title: Gandhian Approach to Peace and Prosperity: A Philosophical Exposition
Authors: Islam, Prof. Md. Sirajul
Abstract: This paper has two aspects, one is peace and another is prosperity.&#xD;
Before discussion of the Gandhian approach to peace and prosperity it&#xD;
needs to define the term peace and prosperity first. But it is not an easy&#xD;
task to define the term peace and prosperity, it needs philosophical&#xD;
analysis. Hence, at the outset we will try to define the term peace and&#xD;
thereafter Gandhian notion of prosperity. Peace does not mean just an&#xD;
absence of violence, dissension of war, rather Peace is a commitment&#xD;
to refrain someone from any kind of harm and violence and at the same&#xD;
time leads to live in perfect serenity/ tranquility of mind as well as the&#xD;
balance of the body, mind and the soul of an individual.

causes of the occurrences of diseases and epidemics and the&#xD;
introduction of modern health care systems in the princely state of&#xD;
Cooch Behar. The article has been divided into three main parts, firstly&#xD;
– the article makes a comparative study of the health care systems&#xD;
between the ‘pre-modern’ and ‘modern’ era; secondly – the article&#xD;
examines the environmental aspects of diseases and epidemics that&#xD;
were occurred in colonial Cooch Behar, and thirdly – the article delves&#xD;
